Damn, I guess I suck cause I didn't serve. My opinion doesn't matter, and neither does that of anyone else who hasn't served.

Well, to hell with me, but I tried to enlist, since my uncle just recently retired from service at the Pentagon, my grandfather was a supply pilot in the Army Air Corps WWII, my dad was stationed in Nebraska (volunteered for Vietnam but didn't get called to go, so I guess his opinion doesn't matter either) and my step dad recently retired after over a decade in the Sea Bees and service in Desert Storm..but before graduation, I suffered a complete separation of my left shoulder, and also have asthma. The Army would not allow me to enlist.

I was able to play football and baseball all the way through high school, and even played baseball in college and rode bulls, as well as train horses (NO I am not a f-ing aggy, either...Longhorn jumping team horse trainer at Medway). But, you see, the Army wont take you with the kind of injuries I had, and asthma. But, I guess according to the direction of your post, I am not allowed to have an opinion, nor should I be allowed to vote. That is, after all, what you are insinuating here. Weather you served or didn't serve, doesn't mean you can or cannot make good sound decisions. I am friends with a lot of enlisted men and women that cant tell their ass from a hole in the ground.

BTW, mate, what are your military credentials and lineage?

My granddaddy use to joke around and tell me a purple heart means you simply didn't move out of the way.

I hunt too. Duck, pheasant, and deer...damn good eating. I went about two years with out buying any store bought meat. We killed our own. Something very honorable about that, if you actually stop and think about it. You learn to honor those animals that gave their life so you could eat. Something running to Safeway just doesn't teach you. I met that whack job Ted in Austin back in 94, I think it was, at Sneakers. He mentioned he and his family have never gone to a store to buy meat. Sorry man, thats real. If you are going to eat meat, respect the animals and do it yourself. Cause, you know, nothing is more humane and respectful than a slaughter house.

Point is, vote for who you want to, not because you hold one person to this level, but not some other person. Thats just myopic. Just because you got hit by a bullet, doesn't mean you are qualified to make decisions. Just because you hunt doesn't mean you cant make a decision. Just because you went to war,or didn't go to war, doesn't make any of the other things really relevant in this context.
